Introduction to Theology, The Theology Program
Welcome! This is the first course of The Theology Program from Reclaiming the Mind Ministries. My friend, Michael Patton put this course together because he was deeply concerned...about you. He recognized that Christianity has "lost its mind' (my words). What we mean is that Church leaders have not been teaching the lay people the truths of the faith. We haven't taught Christians how to think. That all changes now!
IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU? Yes! This course is for any thinking person who wants to understand their faith, how the Church got these ideas, how should a Christian think and much more.
I RECOMMEND THIS COURSE IF YOU are an intellectual or thinker even if not a Christian or church goer. If you ARE a Christian, this course is for you if you have already laid a good foundation. If you are just beginning as a Christian there are more basic classes I recommend first (see under Discipleship). At RiverStone we designate them as D1 and D2, i.e. Discipleship Level 1, Level 2 etc. This course is a Level 3 course, or D3.
BEFORE YOU START! Let me tell you about The Theology Program, or TTP. There are 5 Courses. Introduction to Theology, Course 1, is the gateway to all others. Many find Intro a bit tedious (actually they said boring, but don't tell Michael). However, Intro has an important purpose, IT TEACHES YOU HOW TO BEGIN THINKING. There are some KEY CONCEPTS you will need and use in the rest of the courses, and in your life.
Make sure you understand: Kinds of Theology (tabloid, folk, etc.) and The Stage of Truth. (The Stage of Truth really opens people's eyes!)
AFTER INTRO you can jump to any of the other TTP courses in any order.

Happy Thinking!
